Hello obscurity

Tuesday, September 1st, 2009

It seems that this poor site has been neglected one too many times over the years.  I have officially fallen into the dark realms of obscurity on the internet.  My stats seem unrecoverable.  No one wants to advertise here even for free.  It’s a sad place to be.  But I’ve been mucking up the place since November of 2000 (wow, almost nine years?) so I don’t believe I’ll be giving this place up just yet.

Today is September 1st and I’m doing fairly well at updating again.  I just need to get into that groove again that seems to rise and fall like a perfect wave.  Once I can get that going I’ll start on other projects again.

The TSA is your friend. Obey your friend.

I, along with others, think that the idea of the TSA starting up their own blog is something along the lines of idiotic and insane instead of helpful. Especially if they aren’t going to reply to comments or setup some kind of FAQ or forum or something.

I’ve been reading the posts and comments and the only thing I’ve learned so far is that there are far more people pissed at the idiotic TSA rules and inconsistencies than there are people applauding. And considering they are using the Blogger back-end for their blog, it makes me wonder how serious they are about this. Blogger is the worst interface and management system for blogging that I’ve seen. There may be worse, but I wouldn’t know it.

I’m assuming that this is more of a public relations scheme of some sort than it is a place to be helpful and distribute information. But it’s still new and hopefully evolving. I hope it comes together.

Experimenting with ads

Sunday, December 9th, 2007

Since I’m having to rebuild the site once again, I thought I’d try out some ads.  Not exactly sure how it works yet, but I think I have some showing.  They look like crap and I’d prefer images instead of these cheese text ads.  But oh well.  Maybe I’ll figure out a better way to do it.

So, apologies in advance if you are mortally offended by the presence of ads.  It’s just an experiment at this point.  We’ll see what happens.  Just understand that those ads are the only things I have on here right now.  I have never been paid to talk about any of the things I’ve blogged about.  That just creeps me out.
