Short week this week

It’s a short work week here at the office due to the Chinese Lunar New Year coming up.  Most Hong Kong companies give at least a few days off if not a full week for this traditional and important holiday.  All of our mainland China offices are closed for a full week.  Hong Kong’s not included though because it’s still not technically part of China.  Technically.  Meh whatever.

The China staff had to work all weekend to make up for two of the days off.  So really they aren’t getting as many days off as it seems.  It’s just the timing of the days off are more important than the quantity I suppose.  Otherwise that would be a pretty crappy deal.

So anyway, my office is closing a bit early on Wednesday (which may or may not mean that I get to leave early) and then we have Thursday and Friday off.  Assuming nothing blows up in one of the offices that doesn’t celebrate the Lunar New Year, it should be a nice four days off.
