Wrong time to be sick

It’s Monday morning and tomorrow is the office move.  And I’ve been sick since Sunday morning.

It started yesterday after I had some cereal.  First came the diarrhea and then the lightheadedness.  I laid down to read and after a while I started to get very very cold.  And I know it wasn’t cold.  Once I started shivering and my teeth began chattering I put on my favorite hooded sweatshirt, pulled up the hood and crawled under the blankets.  I slept for a while and then the stonach cramps started.

Muse went out and picked me up some McDonalds since I figured that would be bland enough.  Sadly I got really hungry between the time she left and the time she returned.  I threw up and shit out most of my dinner and the remaining bits caused me no end of pain the rest of the night and morning.

I went to the Medical Center on my way to work.  I told him all the above and he told me it was just stomach virus and nothing serious.  He gave me pills for the stomach cramps and some others for the nausea.  I also got some packets to mix with liquid to rehydrate.  Every time I drank water the cramps got worse so I am definitely dehydrated.  Stuff tastes like ass too.  But no matter how much I drink, I’m still dying of thirst.

I’m going to try and get some things done here and hopefully I can leave a little early if I need to.  I have a 12+ hour day looming ahead of me tomorrow and I need to bring my ‘A-game’ or at the very least my ‘B-game’….

I know the feeling. I was sick for about 3 weeks straight, and still had to go to work and pretend all was ok.

Nothing worse than a stomach ailment. Get well soon.

I can TOTALLY sympathize. I was sick like that 1.5 years ago and it sent me to the ER. I won’t go unless I see bone sticking out of skin, believe me. But this was bad.

I was up all night, sick out of both ends like you are, and I couldn’t even keep water down. Then the dry heaves began and the pain got worse.

I’ll tell you. It was the best visit to an ER ever. Because they got me rehydrated with an IV and they were also sympathetic enough to give me some morphine through the IV for the pain. BLISS after the night I had.

I hope you get better ASAP. I know it’s miserable to feel this way, and the fact that you have to work really SUPER sucks.
