Maldives

We are considering our options in going on vacation to Maldives in July for our delayed honeymoon/first anniversary.  We’re looking specifically at resorts that offer “water bungalows” which are rooms actually sitting in and above the water, generally with a deck that you can just walk right out into the ocean.  You can’t get much more freakin’ romantic than that.

I’m just wondering if anyone out there has actually been to Maldives and has any thoughts or advice on the subject.  If you do, please leave a comment.  Thanks!

That sounds so awesome. I’m going to be jealous in January in St. Maarten, thinking of those water bungalows…

Dude! So jealous. We’re spending our second honeymoon with you twos in Hong Kong. Ok, that’s what I’m calling our two days in HK- a second honeymoon. But I’d gladly trade to go to the water bungalows! I mean, we love you guys, but water bungalows? Wins! I’ve only seen them on Travel Channel and they look incredible. I say DO IT! And then make us jealous through pics when you return.

Well, we are still trying to decide if we are going to go here or not. It seems that since it is so remote, transportation to and from is a royal pain in the ass. You spend almost as much time commuting to and from there as you do staying there which is a big letdown.

The shark drive thru is funny though. Hadn’t thought about that. My phobia is jellyfish though. I’d rather wrestle a shark than get near a wild jellyfish no matter how harmless it is. If there were jellyfish surrounding the place, I may need to be carried….
