Grrrr…

Monday, April 29th, 2002

I went in to the dentist today to get my permanent crown. This is the second time since the first one did not fit. Unfortuantely it isn’t the last time either. The idiots who make these crowns screwed it up again. So once again I leave with the temporary slapped back in place. They said they would have it back tomorrow morning so I get to have the temporary ripped out again tomorrow. Oh joy.

Not only that, but they also greeted me with the fact that I had reached my limit on my dental insurance. So I owe them more money! WTF! Today is not starting well….

On a good note, I got to see Ice Age yesterday. It was just as funny as I had hoped it would be. I highly recommend it!

Changing Lanes

Friday, April 19th, 2002

I saw the movie Changing Lanes on opening weekend with moderate expectations. Unfortunately it did not meet up with those expectations or those of the people who walked out of the theater over half way through it. The story is interesting but nothing new or innovative. The story is told but has nothing to do with the action movie clips that the TV previews have you believing it to be. The pace is actually very slow with very few action and humerous sequences. The acting was very good, but just not enough to keep the movie rolling.

Stupid teeth…

Well, I thought the ordeal was over. Got up early this morning to go to the dentist and get my permanent crown put on. However, the new gold crown did not fit exactly. So now I have to wait another two weeks for them to get another one in. So once again my mouth is numb and I have to chew on one side of my mouth. Phooey!
On another note, my Mom is looking to buy a new car. I’m pretty sure she is going to get the

Dungeon Siege

Saturday, April 13th, 2002

For the past two days I have been playing Dungeon Siege and I have to say that is everything that I expected. The graphics are amazing for a fully 3-D engine. You can view the action from any angle and any depth. The controls are as simple as can be and the gameplay is fluid. The sound effects for some of the creatures are down right un-nerving. As far as the style of play goes, think of Baldur’s Gate meets Diablo 2 and then up it a notch.
Anyway, if you have not bought this game, go get it!

Watched the movie The Contender last night. It was fairly good and had a great ending. I provided the link for the synopsis because I’m not inspired to describe it myself.
Something I forgot to put in here before is that I finally read the book Dune by Frank Herbert. I’ve seen the David Lynch and the TV Miniseries movie versions and I must say that I was still very impressed with the book. There is so much detail in the book that you could never get out of either movie. I think the book was very well written. I know that most people have read this and I am way behind but I don’t care. Now I need to go watch that 3.5 hour version of the David Lynch adaptation that I got.
Oh and I’ve also been playing the PC Game Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast. I played a little multi-player and some of the single player and it is a great game so far. The variet of weapons is interesting but pretty standard stuff for First-Person Shooters. It’s the Lightsaber that makes all the difference, though. No other FPS lets you wield a Lightsaber and use the Force to wipe out your enemies. If they did George Lucas would sue them, so I can understand.
